You can do most of this trick on your own.

First, find yourself a disposable baby diaper
(or just use the adult one you're currently wearing, provided it's still somewhat fresh).

Cut a slit in the lining. Inside you will find not only the secret to the diaper, but the secret to this magic trick.

That white powder is made up of superabsorbent polymers.

This stuff can absorb more than 500 times its weight in water.

Before your performance, pour a teaspoon of the powder in the bottom of a styrofoam cup.
Now it's ready to be filled halfway with any liquid.
After the magician pours the water, you see him twirling the cups around. This allows him to mix the powder with the water and buys a bit of time for the gel to set properly.
After a few seconds you can safely turn the cup upside down.
The gel will stay inside the cup, the cup will appear empty, and a Spanish couple will feed you dinner in appreciation.


(I'm certain that 1:12 is a dishonest edit, as they show the inside of the cup to be completely empty. It is not actually empty.)

This video isn't filmed in the most "honest" way so it's a bit hard to trust that things are as they seem.

He is holding the bottle quite awkwardly which can be a clue, and the camera is cutting off some crucial bits.
If you look at the bottle while it's being filled, there's some odd flickering going on in the empty part.
Is water running down the insides through a tube in his hand?

A total skeptic would say that the water in the bottle was actually being emptied through a small hole
in the bottom and the video was being run in reverse.
