It looks like i'm going to study for a master degree in game design next year.
Right now i'm looking at schools in the US and Canada so I might actually be close to some of you
On the down side I would probably have even less time to chop

I've searched for schools with an interesting game design program and so far I came up with
Tisch in NY
SCAD in Savannah, Georgia
Academy of art university in San Francico
Sheriden in Ontario
and there is a Digital Media program in Vencouver that im not sure which school it belonges to.
If you've heard of any of them I would really love to hear what you think...

I went to Academy of Art university in 2003. My sister currently teaches there in the fashion department. It a challenging school. A lot of good companies recruit graduates from there. Plus the bay area is a nice place to live.

I was only there for a semester (I had just graduated from Highschool). But I had planned on majoring in Computer animation. I took 2 drawing classes, intro to multi-media, and Narrative storytelling. I decided I did not want to make art a career so I finished the semester and transferred to Technical school.
Anyway Pixar recruits and gives internships and jobs to students. I believe lucas-arts does or did as well.

It looks like a good school and San Francicso sounds nice, the only problam is I think their master program takes 3 years so it gets crazy expensive...

Yeah their undergrad programs usually take 5-6 years as well.

That's really long! Is there a good reason for it?

I always thought 4 years for a B.A in design is way too much anyway.... it's not like we are going to save lives or anything, just designing stuff, what is there to learn so much
