Yeah, seems like a disaster... Just came to check on my ol family here, and did a quick non-advantage upload in the same time. I agree with you and i am quite astonished frankly to find to the site still alive, even barely.
I think there is a Facebook page, PSC needs to be pushed on social medias I could always try to promote it via my humble Youtube channel, even tho content is unrelated (music production). It is sad but maybe there is a way to "attract" newcomers....stating something like "Let's fight generative AI together and do it ourself #photoshopcontest

ps: i saw u guys talk about ai, and sometimes use it maybe for source i mean why not, its no different than using actual photo even tho it might have some extra "artsy" features that provide some lightening etc (not ok). I just wanted to say i have nothing against using Ai this way, i did not mean that, but i did not checked the uplaods here, what s have been done, and i guesssome of it might be verrry AI processed. i don t know why i thought this site was clear of it haha. For sure . So it is difficult to attract new people then, on the sole purpose of photoshopping, unless we say "improve you AI art at PSC", maybe the site could become a post treatment for ai art in this case (smh). I dunno what else to add. tehre must be a way to revive this site, but it will be hard to do without establishing certain rules and maybe implement an .. AI detector that detects that tehre is too much AI in an upload (and i don t think such thing exists. I know there is something in music industry that can detect AI processing though (probably because AI music is still a bit "pixellized" or something). No, to be fair, i just think we need a clear message and I have no clue what it should be though. It s messed up. And i think i read Ledirlo said that its not just AI the problem, it s the evry new photshop tools that are too "modern" , not sure i got it. Personnally i still use Photshop CS2 haha. I cant use anything else, not that i didnt try , i hate other programs. But icannot go with their rental plan so, im stuck with a very old PS version. And i don t complain.

Micose, I love AI but I don't like to see it in the contests.AI is now part of an amazing modern photoshop app, I don't use it anymore because of my eyesight and because it's too expensive

here's my rant: rajah and his buddies were nice enough to keep the site running for OUR pleasure and I despise the fact most do so little to keep it alive. I now have too bad an eyesight to post so I can't help with that but for the rest, the website is up and running, it's the people that make it so unfriendly by not giving a damn. If you're new to PSC and you end up here you just don't get the point because there's none.A few posts, a few votes, that's it.

They must still be making money from this site, but I suspect not as much and that may be the reason the Prize contest was killed.

There's less than a handful of entries, what do you think would happen if NO ONE entered!

if you look at the ads it's very little money, for sure not enough to pay for the prizes.You know, what saddens me is seeing all my old timers on Facebook not give a damn anymore, the website cannot stay alive without having significant activity from the community, chat and forums about anything, let alone the contests. All of us already miss this place although it's not gone yet.

No I signed up in 2k3 but my old account got deleted , I got banned as I protested against prize contests, I re- created my account in 2k9. I was a hardcore and passionate chopper but my eyesight gradually worsened and my business stopped and I quit chopping. Back then you wouldn't socialize because it was nasty but that was okay.But you're right I thought you were more of a 'newbie' ;) back in the early days it was classic photo manipulation that didn't have the aspect of an illustration I had my idols.I would work a lot and I had to wait untill I bought an apple m1 to have a computer that could handle pro photoshopping well, without slowdowns. I can see from the paradox, the fact that the contests have become nonsense and your putting work into your chops that you're passionate.I also see a more AI/less passion trend in the contests.

Internet users are great, they don't smell!
