Even at McDonalds, a Big Mac is inferior to a Quarter Pounder.

I use a Mac OS X Panther at work, and I have a PC XP Home Edition at home.
As far as using Photoshop on both, I haven't noticed any real differance. Except maybe it just looks nicer on the Mac.
So since PC's are alot cheaper I don't see me ever buying a Mac for home again. I still have my Mac clone, Starmax 4000 that I bought in '97 for $3000, ha! Now I can't even give that away!
Plus I think PC's are better for the internet.
Oh and Mommys Boy...I'll choose the Double QP over a BigMac any day!

I use Macs, basically because I always have, and they are what I am comfortable with. The platforms are getting closer and closer, though. I personally can't get the hang of a PC mouse, but I hear good things from people who can manage it.

It's reall whatever you like or are used to. If you grow up in a Baptist family, you'll probablly be Baptist. If Catholic, then Catholic. If you grow up in a Mac family, you'll probablly be a moron...ha ha, just kidding mac daddy's.

That's true Cynn, the two button mouse is pretty cool once ya get used to it. I keep meaning to see if I can get a one for the Mac. It's easier I think to right click, then to hold the control key down to get a menu, like in Photoshop to apply layer mask and stuff like that. Wonder if it could come with that little wheel thing like a pc mouse? That's much better for scrolling web pages.

I own a PC, always worked with PC, but would own a Mac if they were cheaper.

I have always dispised MAC's for many reasons - but since buying an iPod a month ago, I must admit that Apple has some design smarts.
Now if they can do something about the manopolistic mentality and drop the pricing by a few 10 percents I'm in.
(Since XP came out I've been much happier with my PC though)

You left out the "Anything but Windows" option. I use Macintosh on my Apple, and Linux on my AMD. Both are about equal at running the GIMP.

The GIMP crashes a lot more under Windows than it does under Linux or Macintosh, therefore, Windows is the worst of the 3 for using the GIMP(which is better than photoshop *ducks*).

Yeah.. Macs are overpriced, but most professional artists I know (and professional musicians) stick with them. In my circle they're the industry standard.. but that doesn't reflect anything but my experience.
I have a friend who asked me to give her some training, in Photoshop. She has a really high-end PC. It went okay, until I tried to use the mouse as a paintbrush. It just didn't feel smooth, and it didn't paint right. Again, it could be a matter of what I'm used to. I don't like tablets, either.
