EDIT: Hah! I posted this JUST as you were posting that update! Yeah, something like that. But personally I don't think the white text on the orange works as well as on the blue.... how about trying a version for us as I suggested above?

Here's a mock-up of the sort of thing I was thinking of (excuse the rough cut of the slogan, but I don't have that fancy font you used ).
I'll take this down if/when you get a chance to make one yourself.



1) Pattern moved slightly left to put the white dead centre to the banner

2) Orange bar moved down slightly (parallel with the "photoshopcontest.com" logo and the lower bar of the white flash on the PSC logo) to give room for the slogan.

OR

You could try splicing both your initial ideas together - something like this?

Does anyone have a problem with flipping the logo from the one in here:

I remember Chrispis described his design as being done before he realised the site name would be abbreviated to PSC instead of PC ("Photoshop" being one word). He said he never intended the white flash in the middle to be an "S"... but everyone now seems to take it that way and I guess PSC is the abbreviation used to differentiate from PC ("Personal Computer" - IBM). Seems to me the logo update here is so small as not to upset the existing "brand equity" in the logo. It also reads better (top left to bottom right instead of bottom-up)

Any thoughts?

I like Atheamo's design that echos the logo-centre, but fempie's is nice too.
