I had a hard time figuring that out too. I'm still not sure. My wife convinced me that the heel of the "backward " foot was actually in its correct position. But as I look at it again, I still have my doubts. Looks like one heck of a broken ankle to me...

Maybe she wiggled out of her shoe, and it's just the shoe that points backward?

The right heel was photographed from directly above, so it doesn't really look like a heel at all. If you look at her left foot, her pants seem to be sticking out of the snow suit. The same is happening on the right foot, just above her ankle. It is a weird illusion, though. Does this make any sense?

Yep-the "wiggle" out of shoe theory is more than very plausible..

I think the shoe is flipped around, the lower foot does not enter the shoe in the same place as the upper foot. The upper knee is slightly bent because the toes raise the whole foot off the ground, this does not appear to be happening to the lower knee. Plus it appears that laces are visible on the lower shoe.

I also think that her(?) snow pants are too short for her.

that is an illusion as the dude said up there..... I looked at it twice too...
but I assure you she is fine and dandy with normal feet.. her pants were hanging below the suit... she is too tall fer her age lol

as a token of proof this was taken the same day and will more clearly explain the illusion
