In the department of "Reinman's posts that deserved more votes", I have noticed an interesting one.

http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/48094/display.html

I didn't vote for it, I think I wasn't around yet. Maybe I was out buying a coffey speculator.

It IS a funny world out there.

In the end, people like what they like and tend to not like what they do not like.

WHY CAN'T THEY ALL JUST SUBMIT TO MY MIND CONTROL BEAM AND WE'D ALL BE A LOT HAPPIER (and accordion players)!?

All terrific entries that would probably receive more votes, if those same contests were held today.

With respect to Tommagic1's post, I might be missing something, but here is the explanation that illustrates why the picture is so clever, and why the two left hands in the picture are not the hands of the same person.

"This is an image of an artist (hand on the right with a paint brush)...who is just completing a water color picture of a hand putting a watercolor paint container on a table. "

to spence's 2nd pic, that also is an overly done idea, the roller seems floating too, dunno if that was your intention.

it's nice but the votes are low prolly cuz of the lack of manipulation of the origional image itself.

Pat, looking at the entry that way it is indeed a very clever and inventive idea. The lack of points is because it was really not clear to people what was intended with it.

Looking at this you can't see the difference between the painting and the painter:

I took the liberty to alter some things. I made the painting more paintinglike and kept the painters hand in order. Than i added some light and shadow. You can see that it makes a lot of difference:

Hope this explains it a bit.

patim, looks better with the paint texture. I knew they were different hands, but some things have to be spelled out for people. Though, I didn't know it was a painting until you explained it. Maybe if it was on an easel...

Thanks Vince...
I really like your adjustments to the picture because they clarify the intent of the artist
manipulating the image. My hunch is that you are absolutely right about why the picture didn't receive more votes. People didn't understand the message the picture was conveying. Thanks for taking the time to focus the picture's theme with the changed image that makes clear the artists creative intention.
