Bluesbro won the "Happy Camper" contest with his terrific "Three stooges" entry. In my almost a year on the PSC site, I cannot remember a B&W picture ever winning a contest.
Without searching through every contest, does anyone know if a B&W picture has ever won a contest prior to Bluesbro's winning entry? Just curious..

Well I found this one by velocity and this one by supak0ma from not too long ago.
But yes, you're right it's rare for a b&w image to win.
Almost as rare as for a GIF anim to win...

i am only aware that B/W pics are not greatly received here at PSC...for the obvious reason that imperfections can be hidden easily...especially the issue of colour matching (obviously) but blues 3 stooges one was awesome, and deserved to win, I cannot and have never heard of another B/W image doing so well Pat.

Yep, Handtool, I voted for both of those pictures and simply didn't remember them.
Thanks for the reminder! Also thanks to qqq, I had never seen the one by Chrispis..

About as close to black and white as you can get without being black & white.
Very nice work Splodge..

I believe in supak's image, it is really black and silver (as the source was). It actually surprised me how hard it was to match the stooge faces from different sources, and was quite an excercise in the curves adjustment to make it look right. Thanks for the nice comments Marco and Patre.
