Hi all,
I made a website once for a friend. As archaic as I am I made it in Frontpage. Now they like me to adjust it and I am willing to but I have a problem.
I made it for a resolution of 1024 x 768. Now my friend and 30% of the viewers have a resolution of 800 x600. You can quess what the problem is...the lower resolution won't show the whole page.
Now I'd like to make the site auto adjustable to the resolution, but I can't seem to find any possibility in frontpage. And I sure don't want to re-write the whole site, for it is a friends job (a.k.a. free)
Is there anyone out here, who can help me on this.
The site is http://www.zeilklipperactief.com
and the new adjustment http://www.zeilklipperactief.com/test/indexN.htm
Thanx in advance

but,,, you already have an expanding area on the right hand side, that should compensate for any chang in resolution

Anyone who is viewing at 800x600 does not deserve to see the whole page. But that's just my opinion

The whole idea of the internet was to facilitate easy exchange of information regardless of what (operation) systems people use.
One might think that you, being an engineer, would appreciate such an idea

I don't see the difference Supa. I allready have an expanding side at the right hand. When I take your example, I can alter the size of the window and the sides of the site will change.
With my site only the right hand will change but nonetheless, it looks pretty much the same. What ppl at 800 x 600 are missing most is the bottom of the site. They will only seehalf the page or so.
So that is the problem I would like to work around. Just so that everybody can see the whole page.
P.s. I can't change the lefthand side cause there is a menu in it

your site must be fixed width at 750 px, centered, then anyone will see it properly, for the height thing 420px is the average viewport of 800x600.

first, i agree
second, as of about 6-7 months ago, not 30%, but - can you believe - 70% of the people online were using 8x6 resolution. unreal.

sounds great, use no frames. But how must I do it. I don't have any experience with CSS. Except for the text.css etc, but that I can make in an automated program.
Show me how...And I will try to do it. But by reading all these tuts on css, I just get more confused

Patim, are you using an "overflow" property in your CSS?
Ive seen sites with this exact problem and it was because they had "overflow: hidden" in their CSS code somewhere. If so, try changing it to "overflow:auto" or remove it completely and it might make a difference.
Not sure if that will help or if you've already fixed it...but thats what this pea brain has for a thought.

Gotta admit that Dreamweaver rocks.
And, sorry: framesets tend to suck.
But HEY, its summer! Things COULD be worse!
