if anyone is good with javascript maybe you can help me.
Im not sure if/how this can be done with Javascript or not, but I have a page where a Javascript prompt pops up and asks for the visitors name (which then becomes a varible, so on the site it says "welcome visitorsname").
is there a way for me to save a list of the visitors names, so that there can be a list which says:
people who have visited this site:
visitorname1
visitorname2
ect...
but also, I need it so the list omits entries that are blank (if someone dosent enter their name).
any help that could step me in the right direction would be great.

I already have a guestbook, but thats not what I'm looking for.
on my website, I have a contract for people to sign.
when they go to the page, a javascript prompt pops up asking for thier name.
Then the document loads, and the contract text, has their name throughout it's body.
What Im looking to do is create a list on the bottom of the page that says
"other people who have signed the contract:"
and then list the names of the people who have signed it, not create entries like in a guestbook.

Do you want the algorithm or the actual coding? I don't know the language, but I might be able to come up with some sort of algorithm. I f you know the language, you can adapt it.

My son who is a computer programmer says:
Use JSP or ASP or whatever language you choose to read from and write to a database that stores the names of the guests who have signed the book. The database can be anything-for example, it can be a flat file, CSV, or RDBMS(such as Oracle, Mysql etc..
Hope this helps..
