Hey ed, has your P-51 Mustang got a little Rolls Royce Merlin engine.
Come on, everyone knows that plane was shite until the RAF got it and stuck a good engine in it!
Oh, you didn't! Well you do now!
edit: Oh yeah I almost forgot. They also named it the mustang.

Xov - Uh, oh! I need to buy 'Flying for Dummies' so I can understand your chart.
Anfa - Yep... I'm very familair with the P-51's history, although it's not quite how you describe it. I won't bore these nice folks with WWII Aircraft History 101, though.

why not? Its more relevant and interesting information than I would learn in all of my History classes combined.

Your pilot doesn't appear to resemble Buddy Holly or Patsy Cline so I think you're safe.
You might want to throw in a teeny weeny barf bag (just in case)
Oh yeah,,,,,,,,,,,, the plane looks Really Cooool! GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Ed, I have had the pleasure of seeing an actual P-38 fly in the Confederate Air Force annual show when it Was the Confederate Air Force and lved in Harlingen, Tx. It was the most graceful thing I have ever seen in the air. I hope yours is as pretty when it flies.
Good luck.

I just wanted to drop in to let everyone know it's maiden flight went perfectly. It had plenty of power and only required minimal trim adjustment to make it fly straight and level. In spite of it's weight, the landing was flawless. Sorry to disappoint the folks who thought I built a wooden yard-dart. I brought the video camera along, but the battery died as I was taxiing for it's take-off.
Overall, I was pleased but it was only a small bright spot in an otherwise sad day. Last night, my nine year old siberian husky died of an apparent heart attack. I would have gladly watched the P-38 spiral into the ground in exchange for one more day with my dog. I hope everyone elses weekend is a going better than mine.
