Australia qualifies for 2006 World Cup in Germany for the first time in 32 years!

Last time Australia qualified was for the 1974 World Cup also in Germany!

16th Nov, 2005. Australia beats Uruguay 1-0, after extra time, beats Uruguay in penalty shootout 4-2.

See you at the World Cup in Germany next year! Smile

Glad to hear the Aussies qualified: I had this argument with an Aussie friend - she's prefers rugby and so-called "Aussie rules" football (which is basically a mess IMO.. lol)

So I'm glad proper FOOTball is on the rise there cos maybe it will distract the Aussies from that other rubbish they CALL "football" Laughing
