hahaha my poor Queenie. I remember a parent-teacher conference for my son. The teacher's comment? "I've never seen a boy get so much amusement out of a pencil. He'll sit and stare at it while wiggling it for the whole class if I let him."
Soon after we had him take part in a double-blind ADHD study (after a week of neuropsychological studies). Classic case of ADD (I leave off the "H" as he's never been hyper). Now he's on Adderal during the week (none on weekends or over summer) and he's an A student, bass guitarist in a garage band, double bass player in orchestra, working toward his BSA Eagle, BSA lifeguard, and all around great kid. Okay he was a great kid before. But now he's focused at least.
And for all those that freak at the mention of ADHD and/or ADHD meds. We give him the choice to be on the meds or not. I know of parents that force it on their kids as a chemical babysitter. We don't do that. It's totally his perogative to take the meds or not.
