While this is clearly an easy choice, you could make a diagram detailing how poorly tied together the various elements in this entry are. Low res umbrella, high res handle, rooster manipulated poorly, making it low res, high res bonnet, low res background, high res egg basket, high res feet with no shadows. I will say the chicken in the back looks pretty good, as the blurriness covers up whatever mistakes were inevitably made on it. You don't even understand how much of a difference just a touch of noise could have made in tying all those various res elements together. That said, you gotta learn to be more consistent with your sources and manipulations.

This is adorable. Pretty good sense of perspective, though I wish the road were slightly clearer/less grainy. Definitely loving the personified birds without a doubt. I understand the desired effect for the other entry, but even with the glints of light the chicken still seems a bit flat.

Little Red Rooster Hood taking eggs to her Grannies but the Big Bad Hen confronts her. That's the story I see anyway...I like story chops and this is very well done (although what is the umbrella being held up by?) The other entry looks like a nice lump of gold but lacks anything else to make it stand out. It is just what it is.
