The Nile didn't look so great back then (20 meters across maybe) so they built a building on a bridge across the river - amazing skills those ancient Egyptians :)

I've used this overhead shot in one of the pyramids I've edited. Notice the crease down the sides of the upper pyramid. It's actually got 8 sides not 4.
