More clearly: what made you undertake such a project? What techniques did you use? Did you paint over the picture or was it used as a reference, in a split screen? Was the canvas texture applied after the whole was done? Please elaborate...

The original is in there. Largely painted over in different layers. I made a plain dirty canvas layer beneath all. Various levels of transparency/dodge/burn applied throughout the layers.

Why'd I do it? Well, I was thinking a bit about doing the micose thing on it. What I really like about all Naiko's stuff is the textures that he gets. I was wanting to do something similar sort of. Plus I had no other decnt idea what to do with this one.
