I have 14 of them including these 2... and the "momma" of most of them is at the vet right now because shes really sick... =( Its really sad guinea pigs don't show any symptoms until its really bad...

He didn't give me a straight answer, when i asked him the chances of her making it through surgery... all he said concerning that was "It's hard to know with guinea pigs, but any animal may die during surgery... blah blah" =(

He kept inventing ways to avoid giving me straight answers. I really dislike him... he'd answer me with questions, use circular logic, segue into something else, and gave me ambigious answers that honestly mean NOTHING! Plus he wasn't gentle with

HER!! She was bleeding from her colon for the very first time while he was holding her... he said it would have happened anyway (which may be true but once again i don't like him) He said that internal bleeding is very serious with guineas... =(

Thanks Eve! It means alot! Oh and also the frowny for the mean vet is definitely appreciated. =) I pray she gets better too, I'm picking her up tomorrow in case they're treating her badly there. I miss her... she's the one I've had longest

The vet is right on one thing, her dead eye does need to be removed but i'm taking her home anyway. I'll just give her the medecine they suggested and nurse her at home. Hopefully nature takes it course and they eye falls out or something.

On a different note... aren't her babies cute??? Stormy and Sparky are about 3 months old. ^_^ She had two others from the same batch... the other two aren't flat hairs nor identical, but they are 3 months old as well. =)

poor thing. i would guess that vets really don't deal with small animals very often as most owners probably have theirs put to sleep in similar situations. maybe he's just trying to cover up his lack of knowledge.

I agree, I also think he's covering up for his lack of knowledge. Anyway I picked up Queeny "the momma" from the vet. She looks the same as when i dropped her off... =( And on top of that My short haired hamster escaped again...

*sigh* I looked everywhere and my neck hurts! I have to wait till night time as always and i'll finally hear him running around. I swear he hates me. He's the only on who climbs his wheel and jumps out! No matter where the hell i put the wheel

He always escapes... I've tried everything... putting cardboard over them as a lid... he stood on his wheel and bit through the cardboard... i got them a 3 smaller individual wheels... they just didn't ride them... He once made a small hill out

of snacks he saved!! I honestly swear it was like 10 inches high or more! Anyway this morning before picking queeny up. i put there big wheel back, because i felt bad for them and they look cute running on the same wheel together... =)

how about buying an enclosed cage? they make some pretty interesting ones these days.

NO!!! All the enclosed cages I've seen are too much of a mess and too small for the amount of different hamsters i have! Plus they kick the bedding out! =( I only use super large bins and made some small fenced areas for my bunnies and stuff.

If you're thinking about toys... i made them cute little tunnels, pasted little mirrors and made ladders! The rest has been bought, like balls to run around in, wheels in the center of different kinda cars that they can control. Blah blah blah...

I just remembered the name it's called the critter cruiser! They can drive all around the house, it's really cute! =)
