What? Not competing? The least you could do is whip together a Loser's Lounge.
I'll bring the grub.

Best chop of the round has to go to that boat, or the police chase.

Nice entries in round two. Lots of efforts, with exception of "Sorry, no time " entry. You are advancing into next round with no effort and shitty red letters. Congratulations, you are a winner of douchebag of the year award.

#1: People have been posting "surrender" entries for a long time, it has kind of been an accepted norm. Cringer was only doing what most people have done in the case that they ran out of time for some unforeseen reason.
#2: Most of the time, these surrender entries have an opponent. When they do, voters typically don't bash the entrant or call them a douchebag, they congratulate the other entrant as the winner and move on. In this case, Cringer had no clue his opponent was not going to post and had no control over whether his opponent would post or not. Hence, he should be treated no differently than if his opponent had posted.
#3: That said, after discussing the situation with Cringer, he has agreed to give up his spot to the highest vote percentage runner up from this round (standard practice for double no show fill ins). Technically he didn't have to do this by the current rules, but he did.
#4: I am currently discussing a rules change with the mods that will essentially treat future surrender type entries as no shows.

I'll try to be general. Some light sources are mysterious.

Good post and thank you for explaining this. BTW, can we look into adding "titles" to entries? Gracias!

The problem with this is the risk of 'non-english speaking' peoples accents showing through in my opinion...making it easier to identify artwork...
Also, in my opinion titles add a dynamic that takes away from the chop...often they are used to describe a chop and its story (I do this myself all the time). I think the image alone should be able to do all of that. Especially in the H2H, it should be chop v. chop, not chop and title v. chop and title.

Agreed, I vote no on Proposition 342-A.1.1 to add titles to the H2H contestant entries.
But I do believe Sen. Watch them drift's comment about "non-English speaking" peoples is politically incorrect.
He should have stated "Non Merican speaking" got dang aliens from outer space!
