Call me mean-spirited, but I do get a bit tired of seeing all the individual "Congratulations Blahblahblah" threads. It's all very well now while the forum is relatively empty, but at this rate the place is gonna be knee-deep in them soon.

I think a specific "Congrats" thread for certain milestones (like breaking an all-time PSC record) is understandable, but for most purposes it's fine to have generic threads (one for congratulating first time winners, one for congratulating people who pass 1,000 vote mark or whatever, etc etc) and adding their name to that.

Admittedly, some PSCers may overlook it if they don't see a thread that prominently says "Congratulations!" with their own name in the title - but perhaps sending a private congratulations message too is a better way to draw their attention to our appreciation for their work.

Isnt that basically the case HT?
I mean when Yer happy for a guy and his win,
whether it's a friend or you just particularly like
their winning chop-- You send them an IM.
It's personal, they are sure to see it, and it means you went through the effort to
congratulate them personally.
Where as starting a thread is more about the person making the thread,
how nice and considerate they are.
except in special cases like a record breaker.Then- whoever starts the thread first wins
and saves others the embarrassment of overlooking a special achievement.
