brighten your screen then lol ;) seriously though I calibrate every week I have to for work, & its fine here, Plus its midnight, its supposed to be dark.

I like the concept. It is somewhat dark for me on a Mac. I think this would be a stronger image if you flipped everything horizontally, except the top third.

No way i'm brightening this anymore! I already increased the brightness 20% its going to be daylight if I do anymore. You guys need to brighten your monitors geesh : / BTW I'm on a MAC too.

This is prob the reason why I don't like doing night scenes, everyones monitors are different. Some will say this is too dark, others will say too light.. I wish we had a middle ground. CALIBRATE PEOPLE!

and tada I like the image the way it is. I'd have to do a ton of work to do as you suggested. Highlights, shadows on my mermaid.. EVERYTHING would have to be reworked.

For me it isn't the overall darkness, it's the lack of details in the darkest areas like her hair and clothing. These areas are pitch black yet the lighting on her skin would suggest otherewise.

well it is night lets not forget... shes fair skinned, the moon is bright enough, but her clothes are being shadowed by her artist interpretation i suppose. I didn't want to darken her skin too much. and her 'clothes' were dark blue to begin with.

and her hair is also black lol also remember this is the second brightness I've done to this hard to recapture what youve taken out. she was overall darker in the original.. Carl you're right, I liked it before I should have just left it.
