PSC History
In late 2001 in a cubicle farm near Pittsburgh, PA, a few web
developers spawned the idea for a web site dedicated to image
manipulation. The idea was not entirely original, however.
After spending many hours of enjoyment on
FARK.com's Photoshop
contests, we decided it was time to take Photoshop contests
to a new, dedicated level.
PhotoshopContest (PSC) started quite small and did not look
like or have as many features as it does today. In fact, the
first release took about three lunch hours to put live. Over
the years, though, new functionality has been added to the
site primarily through requests by the user base.
Also since our beginning, the site has continued to grow
through search engines, media mentions and, when the budget
allows, advertising.
Today, PSC is simply a result of applying modern web
technologies to models and functions proposed by the site
members. We hope that you enjoy the site!
