How did you get your PSC nickname?
there's a thread here somewhere explaining the whole story...

What is your real name and age?
Jos Bloemers, 33

Where are you from and what do you like best about being there?
the Netherlands.

What do you do to keep the bills paid?
Neuropsychologist, researcher, clinical trial manager

What do you do in your spare time?
chop, WoW, and most importantly, play with my 3 sons ... and play with my wife ;)

How did you find PSC, and what do you like most about the site?
dunno & the chopping!

If you could change one thing at PSC, what would it be and why?
the fact that voting is also a popularity contest. On the other hand, i don't like the anonymous voting when there is a prize to be won.

Is there any other information about you would like to pass on?

How many hours per week do you spend on PSC?
depends: if i'm in a psc mood, 10-15 hrs a week, if not, 0.

What other sites, not Photoshop related, do you like to surf?
World of Warcraft, Emotionalbrain.nl (my work)

What tools do you use to chop?
old P4, 2.53 mHz, 1024 MB RAM, olivetti kerboard, XP, PSP9

What gets your creative juices flowing, how do you create a masterpiece?
luck

What inspires you?
beer

Do you have a system? Does a chop have to be done a certain way following steps or are you a messy chopper and just go with the flow?
the latter

What style of chop do you prefer to create?
a winning chop :)

Filters, brushes and techniques: Which do you use, and not use, and why?
i always start with the pen-tool and go from there. cut 'n paste, see if it works first. if it doesn't, i usually quit, if it does, i go all over the place using anything i can get my hands on.

When do you know that you have it just right, or is it constant changes up until, or after, you post?
i never do.

What is the limit to what you will chop?
about 2560x1920

Are there any tips and/or tricks that you would like to pass along to less experienced choppers?
learn to use the pen-tool!!! it is invaluable for a crispy clean chop.

What is your favorite type of source image, and why?
the ones that give me a good idea.

There is often talk about how the source is used and to what extent it should be. What are your views on all sources, outside source use and animations?
there should be an obvious link. you might have to search/think for this obvious link, but it should be there. I have won a contest where i didn't even use the source (http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/113420/water-fountain-hygenics.html)

What is your preferred resource for outside source images?
getty images & google

In your opinion what makes a good chop?
thinking out of the box and good execution

Do you have a system to get things started?
nope

Have you ever completed a chop and then decided not to enter it in the contest? If so, why?
yup!! didn't finish in time (i sometimes take 4-5 days on one chop!!!) or didn't like the result/where it was going to.

After you finish your chop do you just post it or seek opinions of family and/or fellow choppers first?
just post it.

If some one finds a fault in your work do you change it or stay with what you posted?
depends. If i agree and it won't take 5 hours i'll change it.

What qualities do you look for when deciding to vote on a chop?
technique, idea, humor and then some

Some member prefer not to vote for filtered chops or animations. Is there any particular style/type of chop you won't vote for?
nope. i'll vote for anything (if the price is right :) )

Time is always a factor, how much time do you spend on a chop and how much time is too much?
5 hrs for a quicky, 10-15 normally, and 20+ for extremes

We all love to get votes. Now are you a constant vote checker or do you just let it go and check once a day? (be honest)
depends how busy i am. usually around 5 times a day

What chop of yours did not do as well as you expected?
i thought this one would win ... :( http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/114103/painted-shed.html and i was really pissed when my 2nd entry only got 3 votes... i can kinda understand why, now :) http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/69504/display.html

What do you consider your best chop so far?
http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/114103/painted-shed.html http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/113420/water-fountain-hygenics.html

What do you consider your worst chop so far?
http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/70340/display.html

jasper, reyrey, ledirlo, claf, anfa, rashdog, metalic, deshone, marcoballs, BTVS, gort, buglover, supak0ma, thbeghin, chrispis, arcaico, synthvet, jazgraphic ... and many more!

What do you NOT like to see in a chop, and why not?
old sourcepics! dunno why, it just seems so inspirationless

What is the best chop of all time?
thinking out of the box: very simple but very effective (inspires me still)... http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/90546/moving-in.html

Do you have any other PSC related comments to add?
nope.
