Recently some drones of another web site took it upon themselves to spam new psc users, as well as existing psc users, with messages trying to pull users from this site to theirs. While I am all for the growth of the photoshop community, tactics like this lack class and we do not wish to associate our site with a group that acts upon this level. The user names were:

regibell
slicky
suela
Jess The Fish
Lauren
drooler
rmb10958

I let the spam accumulate to a point that my complaint to verizon (the primary source isp) will be taken seriously as has been the case in the past. My apologies to those who had these unsolicited messages in their private message inbox. Enjoy the site!

Bah, just delete their user names and ban their IP addresses. Don't contact their ISP over something that's a mere annoyance. Seems very petty to me.

Yeah, I agree with DoaC about the ISP thing.

Actually, I got a message from Drooler the other day (my second spam for that faceoff site), and was about to get angry and forward it to you (JMH), but then I checked out his portfolio, and saw that he's a relatively new member who IS actually posting entries here (that look like there was a bit of effort, as well). He even referenced one of my chops (as I'm sure he did everyone he pm'd)... so I decided that even though he shouldn't be recruiting for some other site, at least he really participates here and isn't just blindly spamming every user.

Actually I was a little suspicious because he was raving about how good one of my posts was that really is one of the worst ones I've done...

About a month ago, I submitted a picture about the ruthless recruiting methods that faceoff site is using: http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/97263/torture.html

The chop isn't very good, but I think the theme is pertinent now!
