I'm doing a trek in iceland for a charity called beacon centre for the blind. So what? I hear you ask. Before I continue, I'm not asking you for money (unless that is, you would like to help me and donate some!

The reason I'm doing a trek is because my mother is partially sighted and due to her diabetes, her sight is getting worse. The charity that it is in aid of helps her a lot and I figured I would do something to help them out.

So - what do I need help with?

I've set up a site based on the Wiki software (you know, like wikipedia) and I need some help getting it going!

It's basically a pub guide. A pub guide with a difference though - it's a worldwide pub guide. Not just pubs though - bars and clubs, well anything related to alcohol really!

Where do you come in?

As everyone here quite enjoys typing into boxes and making things look nice, I thought this would be the best place to start!

all I need is a few pub/bar/club listings making on the site. It's easy t do and if you have any pictures that would be great.

How does making a site provide money for your charity?
Basically, any donations from pubs/bars/clubs in exchange for advertising will go to my chosen charity. When I've raised all the money I need, I will choose another charity.

What do I do now then?
Hot foot it over to www.thepubguide.org and get typing! You don't just have to write about pubs/bars or clubs - you can write about pub games, alcohol abuse - anything related!

I'm particularly looking for American pubs/bars/clubs, but any country will be fine!

I am having a hard time equating the pub guide, and trekkking across Icelend with helping your mom.
In brief you said..trekking for charity, helps mom,therefore fill out the pub squares...what?

Ok, i'll try and simplify it!

My mom uses the beacon centre for the blind. They have organised a trek in iceland via a group called charity challenge.

In order to do this challenge, I need to raise £3000.

To help raise this money, The Pub Guide I created will feature pubs/bars/clubs on the front page, which they will pay for if they so desire.

This is just one small part of my fundraising scheme.

For the Pub Guide to work, I need some content for it (and preferably, visitors!)

So whether anybody just donates money, or helps me create a worldwide database, it would be greatly appreciated!
