i don't have a little picture to go along w/ my username (avatar) and i'd like to make one. i've tried creating a 50px by 50px image to upload, but the file size is always too big. i've seen some very nice avatars on psc and i just wonder, how do you get them to a small file size?

any answers would be greatly appreciated

wonder if JMH would increase the size..that would be an awesome change!

when you go to save the picture.......choose the "save for web" option, and you can adjust the optimization/quality.......bring it down, and you'll notice the file size will come down too

Post the image here, and one of us will shrink the file size for you.

thank you, i used save for web and realized it was very easy, i don't know why saving it using "save as..." makes it so much larger in terms of file size. thank you for the suggestions and sharing your experience.
