http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pretenders

The Pretenders were a big part of the New Wave era, Chrissie Hynde went on to achieve great success in the rock world, it was really sad that James Honeyman Scott and Pete Farndon would not be so lucky, check out their early work caught live on the TV show "Fridays", back @ 1981 you can see how well these 2 guys formed the sound that would make this band a household name.

Yes, actually it was Johnny, I thought that the song is older than 1970 and that Johnny Winter was covering it too but after 30secs of surfing i came across this:
"First released on the Johnny Winter And LP (1970), with Derringer and the McCoys (#1 "Hang on Sloopy") backing up Winter."

Don't you guys read the links I provide? Confused This stuff will get you chicks Laughing

Derringer also recorded and played with a version of Johnny Winter's band called "Johnny Winter And ..." and both Edgar Winter's White Trash and The Edgar Winter Group. Derringer also had a successful solo career, and his solo version of "Rock 'n Roll Hoochie Koo" was a hit single.

Those are all good tunes Pod, and yes I do enjoy them
