To quote a song by Meat Loaf " Life is a lemon, and I want my money back".
I found out a couple of weeks before Christmas that i am type 2 diabetic. It's not life threatening, but on top of being asthmatic, overweight, and over 50, I don't need it.
Rant over, but I feel a little better for it.

My husband almost got a breakbown when he was diagnosed with diabetes, he took it real hard, but now he has learned to live with it quite happily and is very proud of his new found figure. It is not as hard as you think once you really learn your food stuff's nutritional value. So hang in there you'll make.

My Great-Grandmother lived to a 100 with diabetes.
And my grandpa who has borderline diabetes is 75 and is still chucking 40 pound haybales to his cows.
