As an avid chopper myself, I created a site where you can test your ability to spot photo-realistic chops, or upload your own to test others. I thought it was a fun concept, so I figured I'd share it. If you're interested, you can check it out at http://www.chopornot.com

Before you jump down my throat -- this isn't spam (or at least isn't intended to be). This is just an invitation for choppers to participate in another style of chopping fun.

I hope those of you who try it out enjoy it.

Wow, one registered user and a total of 17 chop-or-nots to choose from. Nice idea, which has been done many many times before: "Photoshop or Real", "Rendering or Photograph", etc.

Everything has been "done before" to some degree. Additionally, the site is brand new, so of course you're not going to have a huge selection of images the day the site goes live.

Thank you for your feedback, however.

I agree! There is nothing new 'under the sun'. I was bored after three images. Good luck with your site!

Tom, nothing against your site/idea/concept, etc., but the question will really boil down to whether you intend to contribute to PSC (i.e. participate in PSC contests) or just promote your site (i.e. generate revenue from the ads) Question

The cost of operating a site of this nature at no cost to end users far exceeds any "revenue" brought in via advertising on the site. The cost of the bandwidth is much higher than the few cents I receive when someone clicks on an ad. I design these sites for fun, not profit.

Ever hear of The $39 Dollar Experiment? I'm the same Tom who wrote all of those goofy letters (on my own dime)...

Anyway, I'm not going to play defense here... I could have made my initial post and left it at that... *shrug* In any event, thanks for the feedback -- positive or otherwise.

I must have pushed the wrong button, I do apologize. My question was whether you were going to contribute to PSC (I hope you do) or only to promote your site.

As far as your site is concerned, I do not understand if you are asking people to join, or contribute, or point out mistakes in the chops, or just have fun, or all of the above.

You didn't push any wrong buttons... I was just speaking to a misconception that many people share (i.e., that any site with Google ads is making money). As soon as people see a site with ads, the immediate first impression is spam or scam (or both).

Concerning joining, contributing, etc. -- I'd say "all of the above". I'd love to see more user-submitted chops, obviously, such as not to have the same 17 photos receiving all of the votes, but everyone is welcome to vote, submit, leave feedback, etc.

Concerning me contributing to PSC, I understand your question, and believe me -- I don't have the talent to compete on any level in this area. I am a developer, not an artist. The "chops" I do are amateur, at best.
