The alias problem is that indeed...of active users a huge percentage are alias. Not just that, many of them have a huge chip on their shoulder and
have become a disruption as bad as the spam ever was.

Where do you find all this information? what proof do you have? Start listing them. Naming them will shut them up for fear of losing votes.

TOFU!.perhaps you misunderstood, I was presenting the option that couple could still post--but only one person in household may use forums

What about friends using the same library, at a college, in a business? what options do they have? only one student in an entire campus using the same internet connection can use the forums and vote? I think this is too limiting.

you sound like you're talking about a completely different site entirely.
BTW, even with alias voting the poll stands at 90% want aliases dealt with.
You were very persuasive at getting Proc to change the chat box back to the bottom of the page---although nearly all the active chat users wanted it at the top, thanks.

I have no idea what most of this is meant to say Confused
First, I agree aliases should be dealt with. Its just not as cut and dry as most of you think it is. thats all. I'm sure Proc will work something out and try to help you all out.

Second, I wasnt persuasive. I simply said that me resolution of 1024x768 (A standard, widely used screen resolution) was not very agreeable with the text box at the top. With all of my toolbars and adress bars and status bars in my browser, I could see 1 line of chat comments under the text box if I remember correctly. Other people had a chance to add their input. Proc made up his own mind.

Rolling Eyes you respond only to the chat format issue. heh.

its funny, I use a resolution of 1024x768 and never have any problems, nor do I look at any images larger than that on this site.
Why is the forum with set to 800 wide? because it accomodates all users on the interent (except those still at 640x480 which is probably just reinman).

I still would like to see some of this proof you have that half the active users on this site are aliases. anyone?

Yeah, right. Rolling Eyes

41" BABY!!!!!!
You may not realize it, but even us Canadians know that WIDER is BETTER!

(er, um... as in SCREEN width, not ARSE width... unless you are a Black Canadian! Razz )

P.S. the above image has been optimized to an 800 pixel width so that Showcase can see the whole image on his teeny weeny wittle monitor. Cool
