I reeeaaaally like Morcheeba. They combined some great ethnic sounds into their music.
The "Big Calm" album is one I just can't quite get enough of.
and it's mostly due to Skye Edwards amazing voice.... but sadly she left the band a few years ago and they just don't sound as good .....at all ...

Big Calm is a great album for sure, but my Morcheeba's favorite is this one...

the burning couch wrote:
OK ....Skye Edwards has a solo album....bout time.
It's quite good, albeit a bit "coffee shop pop" at times, but it's that voice....ya know? Kate Bush, Sarah Vaughn, Allison Goldfrapp, and Sia (Zero 7)( to name a few) are voices that seem to have a similar effect on me.

Cool! Sounds good!
the burning couch wrote:
Kid Loco Yessssss...I really like "Kill Your Darlings" and "Jesus Life for Children Under 12 Inches" remix album. Cool

Kid Loco's albums are always enough different. Those are 2 great albums but I consider "A Grand Love Story" a masterpiece... or close to...

the burning couch wrote:
So I'm gonna venture a guess that you like Dimitri From Paris?
Sacrebleu Cool

I don't have any Dimitri From Paris. Interesting! Really "kitch" & "frenchy"!
I remarked when I went Japan last time, there's few Japanese artists with that French Pop infuence... like Takako Minekawa...

Yes ...I've got that one also. Charango I like quite a bit too. As long as it's Skye's sing'n....they're all good to me.

I was wondering if Be Bop Deluxe had ever done anything lately, and I found that after they dis-banded Bill Nelson had gone off on his own and did some dream oriented works, it's OK I guess, the flashlight dreaming is pretty good, the Map Of Dreams is kind of weird, I could not find part 3, I'll look for it in a dream Laughing

Hey, Paul....the islands were call'n eh?.....Why don't ya call'm and tell'm ta send me some money so I can get to em myself. Laughing Laughing

Don't worry ...the music won't die.
.... of which is something I ponder on occasion ...

What would happen if music was (all of a sudden) wiped off the planet?....non to be found anywhere.
Music (being one of the best forms of communication)is important ( I feel) to relationships between people. Would it mean some kind of a "break down" in that communication?...of which could eventually lead to far worse things?.... or am I think'n way too much out of this?

What are your thoughts.......ANYONE?
