I am in the same boat as Julie. I have only submitted one entry so far, and it is by far, superior to all others posted, but I don't get votes.

I personally think editing is great. That is the way to learn . TAdams has helped me so much with comments about what would work better and I used his advice and it did make a better chop.

Editing is how you learn. If you edit a piece it can make it better. Taking any chop here too seriously is not how to learn. Fun is what you get out of just doing the chop. I know we all see our chops as our children but really about a week after a chop I can actually view it objectively and see it for what it is.. while I am in the middle of one I have too much emotion attached to the amount of time and all that artistic expression I have invested into a chop-- later I see it in all it's glaring errors. So just don't take it so seriously, edit to make it better and have fun along the way.... now that can be fun and the way to learn.

I know I've been bad to not post a chop in a bit but I am working on a website which has me tied up but I will be back to post.
