Hi

I'm working on something at the moment, but I'm a little bit stuck.
The problem is that I have a big stroke of land which basicly has no shape, just cut out.
What I want to do with it, is making this shape in a perfect circle where depth can still be seen, aswell parts of the landscape.
Do you know what I mean?

Can anyone help me with this or point me into the good direction?

Thanks Smile

Hey I have a question that I am sure has a simple solution but so far is driving me nuts. I am making boxes like for web pages and such with photoshop. I want a rounded corner for my jpeg. I have not yet found a good custom tool that works for me and makes all my square sides evenly rounded. I am yucking around with cutting slowly by hand but it's not smooth. So what tool makes a uniform rounded corner that cuts a jpeg or gif image. I worked with the vector tool but you still wind up with a color on top of your image so that wasn't working. Any suggestions? And It may be dumb question but I don't care. Confused Very Happy thanks for any tips

hey I selected all then I notice that I can only select border as the smooth choice is greyed out so do I just muck around with the pixels on the border part.. or how to get that smooth to open up and be a selectable choice. I feel dumb.

I LOVE rounded cornered squares!

Here's how I do it:

1) get yer image to the basic square size you want it.

2) pick the ROUNDED RECTANGLE tool (it is probably under the SQUARE SHAPE TOOL - its in the group that does path shapes and such.

3) Make sure the PATHS button is ON at the top area or the control bar (top of page just under main menu area).

4) choose the radius you want the corners to be.

5) Draw shape around your image.

6) hit CNTRL= RETURN (CMMND+RTN) to change path to selection.

7) CNTRL + J to cut out image and pop it into a new layer.

Cool delete bottom layer or keep, whichever.

Smile

Start with a flat image of your background

Use you circle selection and create another layer from your selection.

On your new layer, add these settings. Spherize at 100% set to normal.

De-select. Choose your clone stamp tool. Click a sample source spot within your ball and go along the edge of your ball with the grass brush.

Choose the burn tool. With these settings.

Burn the shadow side of the ball.
Now choose the Dodge tool. Set it to highlights. Use a large brush size and doge the highlight area of the ball.

That's it.
Very Happy
You now have big round hairy balls. Very Happy Shocked

Excellent guide ReyRey, thanks a lot Smile
The Spherize I found by now (Thanks Martrex) but I sure like the grass-brush you're using here, it wouldn't have come up in me to do it this way.

You know, I'm only active here for a week now, but I love it more day by day.
What I like most, is the kind of solutions ppl find for small problems in Photoshop.
Some things look so complicated while the solution is very simple.
I admire those who come up with those solutions, because I see it as a brilliant and creative way of thinking Smile

Anyway, lots to learn for me, but I think I'm at the right adress to do so.

I must agree, master reinman.
The pen tool is great, but sometimes you must use its underprivleged cousins for simplicity.
