I'm planning to try to make my first GIF file for an entry, but I have no clue what program to use.
I think I understand the basics of how to make it though, but I don't have a program for it.
What programs are most people using here for their GIF's?

ImageReady (bundled with PS5.5, 6, 7, CS and CS2)
Use the "Jump to ImageReady" button on the bottom of the standard toolbox

Photoshop CS3 has the animation features built into the main program.

PS CS3 or Image ready (comes bundled with older versions on PS)

I use Jasc Animation Shop. You can download it here: http://ftp.jasc.com/pub/en/ani311en.exe

I find this painless to use.

CS3 is really cool, you can save animated creations in AVI format also if you want.

Takes a lot of time to figure it out, but the tools are easy once you know them.
