Hello old wise ones. Since you guys/gals have helped me in the past I thought i'd ask you since i didnt have any luck searching through google.

I'm working on a website and I create the layout in PS and copy certain segments over(yada yada yada) - well one of them are the buttons I make. Normally i create a new project and copy the layer(usually a rectangle and some text) i created into the new doc and the crop to the size i need. Well when i'm doing it is a pain to get it exactly like the original so then it doesn't line up on the webpage when im done. I've been using After Effects lately and they do a smart thing where you basically create new compositions and it pulled the dimensions of the file and uses that as the main size. So can you do that with PS? Say I have a 332x232 rectangle created can i drag that into a new project and make the canvas size automatically got that size?

I ask because I can't seem to find any info on the layer dimensions...only the whole projects dimensions...make sense?

I have PS 7.0 at work and CS3 at home.

And thanks for any input

Not sure if this is what you mean but, I found out that when I copy a layer or a part of a layer and then go to 'New' to make a new file, it automaticly puts the dimensions of the part I copied.
