Back when I was using PS CS1 I noticed that when I would save for web, my images seemed to fade. I soon realized that I had to change the color profile to "emac" (what my monitor uses) in the document and it no longer happened.

Now I have switched to PS CS3 and it is doing the same thing. I've tried playing with the profiles like before but it still happens.

Does anybody know what this is and how to fix it?

when you "save for web" it saves it with a small color profile to keep the file size down.

you can get an idea of when it will look like while you are working on the image by changing your work area color settings to sRGB61699 or Monitor RGB

if you keep it at a larger color profile like Adobe RGB, you can set your proof to Windows or MAC RGB (VIew >> Proof Setup) and toggle between your work and proof by hitting CTRL Y (apple Y?... dont have a mac)

I went through the same thing...I'm guessing that Adobe 1998 is your default colorspace, so try ( under the edit menu...convert to profile) and change destination space to sRGB.

Hope it works for you!
