I cannot find a decent tutorial on making a tornado in PS. All the tutorials i can find look nothing like a tornado. Im thinking of the traditional cylinder that spirals into the sky from the ground. Not top down views of a background with twirl filter added.

Does anyone know how to create a tornado in PS?

If not ill just resort to finding a free external image of a tornado and implementing it into my background.

I used this one ages ago nd did a little playing with the selection and I think I left out the glow effect but it did make me well what I thought was an of cyclone looking effect...but it was used far in the background and was not the focal point of the image.

I did have another one but cant find it will have a better look later for ya mate.

I once made a "flornado" (flower-tornado) using mostly just smudge and blur tools.

I remember just looking at lots of pictures of tornados as a reference.

I did this with just a soft airbrush set to scatter slightly.

Dodge and burn to add shape.
