I'm a big CC fan....and I love this new direction he's taken...it just shows the broad range he's capable of....though I hope he goes back to his roots soon...what do you guys think?:

i'm a massive Cornell fan (and soundgarden, audioslave temple..)

He's always got upset over the years about not getting mainstream acclaim. That may have led to this (and the Bond theme last year)

I don't know, Gran....I mean, Soundgarden hit Real big with "Superunknown"...Triple Platnum, Gold, international ....Didn't it the hit the "Billboard" in the (at least )Top 5 with that album?...also huge mainstream radio airplay with BlackHole Sun and didn't they get a couple o Grammys for that one? If he's mope'n bout success , well......
I don't think his voice is fitting (AT ALL) with this new collaboration. ....gaghh
Soundgarden was easily his best.....although "Temple..." I did like somewhat. It's good to see him try'n new sounds but......I wish he would get back to his roots.

I THINK I like this new stuff. It ain't SpoonMan, I'll tell ya! I like the grooves (Timba CAN groove when he wants too Wink) but it doesn't feel like Chris is really GIVIN IT OUT with this stuff.

But I do support him trying different stuff.

Hell, if people didn't try different stuff how could Chicken and Anfa have had that deep and moving love affair back in '02 ?

im cool with the new sound...he is an amazing artist...
but soundgarden ..paved the way for seattle "grunge style" way back in tha day.....and nirvana was born....im missing audioslave....but am so happy that rage against the machine is back to making rebellious against the grain polotical music .....now im going to have to go get this CC album ...this thread i like:)

I was sitting in the lobby of a Montreal hotel last year when all of a sudden
Chris Cornell walked out of the elevator.
He looked anxious, paced around a bit then walked up to me and asked,
"where the hell did my wife go?"
Before I could utter a word he was gone.

Weird.
But still pretty cool as I was a big Soundgarden fan.

I'm a bit disappointed to see he's collaborating with Timbaland.

It's not bad but it's got a hint of sell-out with a touch of desperation. He's much better than that on his own.
When he looks back on his career, I doubt he'll be particularly proud of this.
But it will get him mass radio play and a gig at the next MTV music awards.
