Interesting thread...

I would love if everyone that views any works Ive created left a comment.

But it doesn't happen, usually a work is viewed, most times the viewer moves on to the next image, or someone will vote it, saying.. nice, Love it, etc, etc...

Now, I do like recieving votes for my work, but Im no genius with PS, I know this, and also know that most of my stuff contain flaws... only a very small handful of people have remarked about such flaws.

And one of them was the OP here.

That advice was taken on board, and it will be used when necessary.

Im trying to at least make a 1 line comment on most works I view, but I dont have as keen an eye as the mmore experinced PS'r, hopefully in time, that will change, along with my coment-habbits.

I also agree that anyone willing to vote should also have to make a choice on why they are voting, i.e., idea, theme, execution, etc, etc.

*Goes to look for the suggestions topic*

In another topic the commenting-thingy started and if critisism is good or not, can ppl handle it or do they just want to have fun and be left alone etc...
I thought about it and I do think giving comments and some tips is a good thing. It also changed my voting-behaviour actually.
I'm basicly picking the very best out of a contest these days, the ones of which I think they are truely a pleasure for my own eyes Smile instead of clicking the vote+next button as I did a while back.
But to come back on giving comments, I do feel a little bit uncomfortable sometimes to point a flaw to someone.
The main reason is because my own chops are full with flaws and errors... Don't want to be the next Julie, you know? Smile

Ahwell, I might aswell learn from commenting and getting comments back on my wrong commenting, haha Smile

I think theres a difference between ones PS skills and what their eyes tell them.

You dont need to be a PS genius, imho, to spot an obvious flaw in someone elses work!

I suggest you go find out yourself Smile
Explore the entries around februari-march a bit and don't forget to look at comments of other works.

A lot of people come here to chop for ego validations (votes). Some actually come to improve what they do. Others to bitch at others. I think what you did took a hell of a lot of time and energy, and of the comments I saw, none where mean spirited. I personally don't give a rat's tail about the skewed voting here, but rather want to improve my skills. So yes, I like what you did, as long as respect and genuine interest in helping others is maintained. Thanks Tea Man for adding to, and not subtracting from our community today.

Wink

couldnt agree more
nobody cares anymore about improving their skills (well most everybody) they just worry about how many votes they got or bitching about how the voting system works or worrying about prizes....comments that help are great

ps i saw that contest of the julie rocket ship i loved how she argued against the best choppers on the sight...haha wish i was here then
