My own lil baby is now way to big for my lap.

But she's still cuter to me than ever.

That's a great set of snapshots, Tarmac! You must be so proud of your little girl. Very Happy How old is she? That's some terrific talent for drawing your daughter has--I also love her sense of humor, "I won't torch you.... much." Laughing

Thanks Caffy, she just turned twelve. Very Happy

And YES... I'm very proud. She loves to do real media art, but hasn't been bitten by the photoshop bug just quite yet. Soon though.

HA!! Well, I'll be darned! She did, at that! Wow... so, is she a lefty? Hm... Does that mean she'll grow up to be President? Or... if she's already using such crude (body) language, Vice President? And look at that winsome smile on her face as she makes her gesture... she's definitely got diplomacy down pat! Laughing Laughing Laughing

I try not to be a snot about details, but the Rubik's 4x4 is actually called the Rubik's Revenge.

The 5x5 is usually called the Professor's cube:

This is me, my 4x4, 5x5, father, and mother.

hehe @ Eve! You're right! Trust Nancers to notice such details!
---
Robo: Rubik's Revenge, that's right! We never got the 5x5 one. We had the Rubik's pyramid one, though... I only remember it as the "Rubik's Pyramid," but it probably had a catchier name, too. The mechanism wasn't as good, though. It eventually fell apart. Sad Did you or do you have a Rubik's Snake (also called Rubik's Twist)? We had a few in different sizes. Loved making things out of them. We eventually kept the cubes in the bathroom... and Dad would stay in there FOREVER sometimes! Laughing

Great family shot! Love the borderline-maniacal grins! Wink

So all of your cubes are currently in the "solved" states... I'm sure you know how to solve them, once they're "mixed" up, but don't you ever play with them? You know, make patterned designs on each side and the like? That was always fun, too. Smile

There is one brand that is called the Pyraminx, I think. The 3x3, 4x4, and 5x5 are all I have as of now. My friend has a very strange one that I cannot describe.

Yes, I do love to make patterns with them. My favorite are the center swap and the checkerboard patterns. Can you solve one?

Can I now? Probably not. Years of TV and Internet have turned my brain to mush. But I used to know what I was doing with one of those. My dad would work with me on it... this is a long time ago, when the Cube first came out. 1980 or thereabouts. As I got a little older, we would learn how to create different patterns, and leave a patterned cube for each other to solve. I'm glad to know these puzzles are still around. I'll have to get a new one for Evie sometime. Smile

I believe you can get them at most Targets for about 5 bucks, but it might be more.

Very Happy I ordered a Rubik's World from Amazon. It's a 2x2 and round. Still a bit much for Evie (at 7 months!) but we'll enjoy introducing her to it.
