ok so i finally got the whole gif animation thing working on photoshop but anytime i save it as a gif file it doesnt seem to play when i open it up just to look at it. before i save it i can view it from the animation box and it works fine so idk what the problem is. please help

Make sure you save it in Save for Web & Devices...

If you open the final Gif in photoshop it will only display one frame, you will need to open it with another program.
I use 'Irfanview', its free and opens most file types.

well i uploaded it to photobucket. shouldn't that show the animation?

Pull up the gif file with your web browser and see!

listen to marty!!! he loves gifs and is very talented at them. he taught me how to do gifs along w/ many other animated software. also the dude has a great heart and is a extremely nice guy... you will find that the majority of people on PSC are friendly and there is almost someone that can always answer your questions. take care and best of luck to you

when you did everything oke and save as pakimo says, just put it in your documents and it will open in windows vieuwer, when you also transmit into photobucket you can put the link to here true image code, copy and glue

you gotta save optimised

check here:

first optimize to file size:


Then select "save optimized as..."


Then make sure all setting are set to GIF stuff, select your location and save


You should then have your GIF:

after i optimize the animation it doesnt give me the option to save optimized as. just regular save as. also how can i downsize the whole animation. its like 2000x2000 something pixels

ok so i finally figured out how to save it and all that good stuff but when i reduced the size it flipped all but the first image sideways. (out of 5 frames the last four are sideways and skewn)

ok i got it figured out and it worked out good. thanks everyone for all your help. for some reason it won't let me put the link in either from photobucket.
