Life magazine done a list of 30 Dumb Inventions. There are some bloody stupid things on the list but I don't understand why this is on it.
Mini Television, 1966

As far as I'm concerned the man was ahead of his time.
The comment "British inventor Clive Sinclair shows off his mini television. Please note the thickness of his glasses." is just ridiculous. I'll bet the person that wrote the comment has watched video on a small screen on their phone!

It says: "Venetian Blind Sunglasses, 1950, It was a bad idea then, it's a bad idea now. Sorry, Kanye."

Looks like it'll be a good idea in the future?!

The strapless bra is in use very often these days, they just had to wait for a good working adhesive that did not leave your skin burned and stripped, every time you wanted to take off your bra.....

The round the corner gun should have come with the look round the corner spy mirror that the FBI has in their pocket these days (being a little round mirror on a pull out stick), and it would have worked good, as long as the bend did not prevent the bullets leaving the barrel by getting stuck in the hot metal of the bend.

The portable sauna is still in use these days, because it saves money on going to the real sauna, to sit in a metal case that looks exactly the same as this plastic one.

On the baby cage.... yeah, so what? I got locked up in a big chicken coup when I was a toddler, because I used to pull out all the new veggies in my mothers garden (and we needed those to eat).

The laringuaphone must have been what made all the SciFi filmmakers dream up our modern communication methods. Because everything was already in use in old books and films, before it was even possible. They should bring this invention back, it would save us having to hold the telephone to our ear. Just implant the receiver in a tooth, and stick the other bit to the throat.

Rocket belt is the dream of the American army in Afganistan.
All they need now is a whisper engine and they are set.

On the honeyger.... try tasting the honey or sirup/butter mixture we had to eat, after a hot nose steambath - when I was young, each time we had a cold in winter..... YUK!!!

So, 1961 they were pimping their ride as well..... curious, do those guys know that they are actually not doing something new at all?

That shower hood is much better then the stupid useless shower CAP that we have to do with these days, bring it back!

Now I know what is wrong with the maker of this list. He does not know how to write with his hands. I bet he only uses a typewriter. Fact is, that learning to produce words on paper creates paths in your brain that are usefull in later life. It all has to do with coördination and perspective and such.

The heartbeat breasts should also come back. Goodness knows that babies are ripped away from their mother at three months already, to be put in schools. Having their moms heartbeat in a doll or other object is a great thing to keep a grip on life.

Birdman 1956 may have died, but the Swiss birdman anno 2008 flew accross the Channel between Dover and Calais without a problem!

That baby holder is now used to hang toddlers up in the door frame, so they can practise bouncing and using their legs!

TV glasses, the visor of the 60's, cool to see that was already invented then.

And the Turkey roaster is now build in in a glass box, all they needed were smaller bulbs, restaurants have to pay a fortune for those ovens.

What this person calls stupid inventions is actually a very good proof that some ideas only have to wait for the rest of technology to catch up with them.

It is just the two dimensional thinking of the creator of the list, that makes it stupid. But that was to be expected from a person who does not value handwriting.
