http://www.apple.com/macosx/compatibility/ Shocked
Holy crap... After having this mac for almost 2 years I just found out that you can install and uninstall windows on part of the computer's hard drive. Can any of you computer pros tell me if it works alright and if they recommend it? (for someone who sometimes needs mac to open windows programs and files)

BootCamp is simply a boot manager that allows you to dual-boot a computer. The Mac/Win dual boot is possible now because Mac went to Intel processors instead of Motorola processors. I've heard of better results installing Windows on a Mac than OS/X on a PC. YMMV

BTW, boot managers, also allow you to run Linux on your PC. Just be sure to load Windows FIRST and then load Linux. Actually the same is true for Mac and BootCamp. Install Windows second.

But running windows on a mac will make your computer more susceptible to computer viruses (since mac's don't get viruses!) Sooooooooo! Live on the edge! Laughing Laughing

Use Parallels. Works great! I subcontract for a software company where their software only works on Windows so I installed Parallels on my Mac Book Pro and just switch back and forth with ease.
