So I went to go open a new document in CS4 and every time that I went to change the pixels per inch (from 72 to 300) a new tab would open up in Firefox. Specifically this link: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Photoshop/11.0/index.html?trackingid=DYNQE.

I was able to change the resolution by clicking and dragging until it reached 300...but that led to several hundred tabs to that link opening up in Firefox. Shocked

Has anyone ever encountered this problem before? I feel like I must have accidentally clicked something that I shouldn't have or that I hit a shortcut that I didn't realize was a shortcut. How'd you fix it?

Try resetting the Photoshop preferences

hold down Ctrl-Alt-Shift on Windows (Command-Option-Shift on Mac) while starting up Photoshop. Photoshop will prompt you "Delete the Adobe Photoshop settings file?" Click Yes to go back to factory default settings.

If you've done a lot of customizations (brushes, patterns, tool palette layouts, etc. etc.) you may want to make a backup first

To add to Volks' Preference thang: once you've TRASHED your prefs you will need to set your shortcuts and preferences back to where you like them in Photoshop. After you've done that BUT BEFORE YOU DO ANY NEW WORK, go find the Photoshop Preference File on your computer (on a MAC it is in your USER NAME => LIBRARY => PREFERENCES folder. On a PC I just plain forget where the heck it is: do a search). Once you find it DUPLICATE IT and call it something like FRESH PREFS. If you have WEIRDNESS happen in the future (and you WILL have WEIRDNESS, let me promise you that!) you can simply go back to that folder, delete the current PREF file and rename the SPECIAL SAVED PREF FILE back to its original name and VIOLA! You have "fresh" Prefs, except that all your special settings will still be there.

If this doesn't make any sense to you - heck, you should try reading it from where I'M sitting! Shocked
