Wow Scott, that's huge news!! Congratulations though, I'm sure you & yours will be extremely happy out in Oz.

I'd give my left arm to move to somewhere other then UK (and have thought numerous time about literally doing so Laughing ) but I know I'm too much of a homebird to make such a huge move... plus my Grandad would never forgive me for moving that far away from him - he cries everytime we have to head home now & we're only 176 miles apart.

I'm pretty certain that your parents will come around & will be happy that you based this move on your children having the best possible life - that's what every parent & Grandparent wants for their family.

Good luck with it all.... moving is stressful at the best of times, moving to another country is more stressful so remember we're all here for support Very Happy

Congrats again.

Scott, this is a cool thing. Like many others here, I too have made the Multi-Thousand Kilometer Boogie... in my case I ended up in the same country but that wasn't MY fault - Canada is SO Feckin BIG! Razz

I get from your original post that you are thinking of your kids and what will give them the best chance to have an actual LIFE and to give them the potential to avoid getting stuck like some UK kids get stuck. I think that is cool. They will miss their grandparents, and vise versa... but that is better than them getting tired of them I suspect!

And, here is my most important advice to you: once you leave the UK DON'T HOOK BACK UP TO THIS WEBSITE! If you truly want to give your children the best chance of knowing their father KEEP AWAY FROM HERE when you get the chance! Wink
