So I was working on an image for one of the contest and had about an hour an a half worth of work done and the power Blinked flickered what ever you want to call it and my computer powered down and right back on. Almost like hitting the restart. Of course none of it was saved.

I need a post it note saying save as you go.

So mad right now too!!!!!

I'm so sorry for you. But I'm sure the most of us know exactly what you feel right now.

I kinda know how you feel. http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/170737/pain-of-betrayal.html had computer crash on that one, but already had work in progress uploaded. Rolling Eyes
Live and learn I guess. Now I try to remember to back up and save, but I still sometimes forget to on regular intervals.

If you use a Mac, I've seen autosave scripts floating around out there that might help you out a bit, if your bad habit is too hard to break. I don't know if one exists for the Windows version of PS.

Personally, "I save like Jesus" all the time. Sometimes I even copy everything to a new PSD altogether if it's a big enough project so that if something goes terribly wrong, I can still pull up the older copies.

Not to offend anyone with the Jesus statement but there is a joke behind it.

That would be cool if PCs had that type of function.

The thing is I rarely spend that much time on my work, but I wanted this one to be close to professional.

Normally my electricity input is pretty stable but for whatever reason pass few days there have been gliches and at night if you live in a city and when ALL the light go out, crazy scarry how dark it gets.

I trained myself to save often, for that exact reason. Lost a chop due to a power outage.

It's easy for geeks though, because geeks put a lot of thought into everything and can come up with a logical conclusion.

Too bad there is not a ctrl+s for my BBQ. It's way more disapointing to prepare to bbq and find out someone (usually me) did not "save' the propane from the last cook out.
