When I'm looking at a source image, I usually see something straight away. Perhaps an element or angle or a detail which inspires me. But then other times, I look and I see lots of great potential but no concrete idea that I can put into practise or execute into a living psd file. I'm sure it's the same for others, too.

So I am interested and am asking you, the people... What inspires you? What gets your juices flowing?

Cool

Sometimes staring at the source can be the biggest waste of time for me. Instead of finding a good idea before chopping, I chop the sources individual elements and copy them onto separate layers. If nothing strikes me by then, I'll pull shapes off of those copies and play with those.

Sometimes it works.

You need a muse. Go pick up one of those and you'll be set. Most art supply shops carry them. Just make sure it's a current model and not one of those outdated muses.

It's easy. When I look at a source picture, I usually think of how I could manipulate that image to get the most votes. Then, I just create an image/animation that is the exact opposite of that!

Laughing I agree. I just wanted to make the bastard move. And I came up with that crap. All day I've been looking at the avatar and thinking: "Stop movin you asshole. You're doing my head in." And now I know I'm not the only one thinking that thought. Shocked

Laughing
