I've been an RPG (role-playing game) fan for some time and played several at home or over small multiplayer LANs, but never dabbled in the wider online versions for a combination of reasons (lack of reliable long-term net connection, lack of time to "invest", hesitance about encountering freaks, geeks and flamers and the like (lol), etc...)

I've been "swotting up" by checking out sites like MMORPG.com, but, I thought I'd ask for YOUR (yes, YOUR) opinions on the many multi-player game "worlds" out there.

• Which one(s) do you prefer? Why?
• How do you rate the major MMOs out there for value-for-money, features, community, etc?

(PS - Apologies for anyone reading this who thinks I'm encouraging members to neglect their PSC time! Shocked Just thought I'd solicit the opinions of other PSCers... Smile )

I'd definately PM Scrolbar and Cynn if I were you.
They're both well informed in this arena.
Good luck HT.

I used to play Everquest and I want those 3 years back, Sony!

Anyway, it was major fun. Only thing is, you need lots of time to invest if you want to get anywhere. I heard Everquest 2 isn't as bad because they cater to the casual gamer as well.

World of Warcraft is supposed to be excellent too.. but I won't play another MMORPG again. Too addicting, too much of a timesink (hmmm, PSC anyone?) Wink

Damn it HTK...

Yes I to am a great fan of R.P.G. based games and have never ventured out into the big wide internut world of multiplay, (sounds kinda kinky huh).

I like my D&D, alone in a dark room with the volume up loud, headphones on.

So I'm with HTK lets see who the real wizards of PSC are......

I'm inclined to agree, especially having trawled through a few of the "hardcore" sites. True, PSC can be a "timesink" too, but at least you can develop skills potentially beneficial to a career and expand your creativity through a site like this. Very Happy

That almost sounds dodgy and unhealthy (you'll go blind!!!), but I know what you mean, blue Laughing

There is one that I have seen but never played called EVE online. Its graphics look amazing though. If I were going to spend time on an MMORPG, I would definately check it out.

I don't play MMORPGs, or any online games (that much) for that matter.

The only MMORPG game I would most likely play in the near future, is Star Trek Online when it comes out.
