How is it in other disciplines. I for one instance work as ships technician, constructor, webdesigner and a bunch of other stuff. In Euro that ought to make me 60K a year and on a bad year 40K.

Are there others out there with another occupation?

Tofu, computer programming and computer graphics. . .correlation, no? My husband used to work in the aerospace industry as a "numerical controll programmer" making the tiles for the shuttle among other stuff, anyway, some were extremely willing to help others weren't. Good to see that that's changed now. It would be interesting to see if other fields are as sharing and helpful as ours.

I live on Long Island, just outside of NYC and earn about 70k a year, but I'm not doing graphic design, it's basically 95% production work. I would probably make between 50 and 100 k if I did the same thing and worked in Manhattan. i haven't freelanced at all since 2000. I was charging $25 an hour then. The business part of it left a bad taste in my mouth and my own time is worth more to me than the money would be.

Well I am glad to be associating with this crowd. I think that I will start a buisiness called
New Bee restorations the logo will be half an old bee and the other half will be a shiny newly restored bee...hence the play on Nubie! what do you guys think of the Logo idea?
I have done some nice restoration work for family members so I do have some nice samples somewhere! If I market myself to local photography studios and or freelance photographers what shout be my target asking price per hour be/ $35 ph?
