i admit this is not a very good entry, but i was not expecting the wrathe of all the negative comments i got.

p.s. this entry was from a time long ago, when everybody remained anonymous until the end of the contest.

Not trying to be facetious, but why make an issue of this now? That contest was almost 2 years ago. Is it still bothering you?

i just looked at it again today for the first time in years, and i found it incredible that somebody actually would write those comments. And it makes an interesting discussion on a forum...

It is interesting duscussion fodder. It seems to me that the amount of harsh criticism seems to be less now that the comments and votes aren't anonymous. correlation?

I can see how reading through that would re-open some old wounds. Constructive criticism is one thing but it needn't be mean-spirited criticism.

Crap, now someone's gonna harp on me..... Shoulda kept my big keyboard shut.

I thought it was so creative that I looked through your entire portfolio. Now have renewed respect for not only how long you've been on this site but the scope of your imagination and good artwork.

So who's gonna sit in a theater for 3 hours this weekend to see King Kong? Question

SHUT UP! JUST SHUT UP! Very Happy
Seriously, you got a QOB, a Nancers, A "SHIT"! DUDE!
You even got a BLUEFIST VOTE ON THAT!!!!
I totally ,missed that contest......it's that simple, if you got a "Bluefist vote?"
who cares how many votes you got after that.....
Blue's a hard vote to get, worth twenty other votes ANY day.
Congratz.
I've only ever gotten a few Bluefist votes, and even back when I cared about votes
like a lunatic, one Blue was worth so much, I was happy.

Holy Shit! That must have been my FIRST aggressive response to Site Whiners! Thanks Mr. Ween for reminding me that I used to have some balls around here! Very Happy

I personally think this site is not as fun as it has gotten bigger. I think that there are TOO MANY ISSUES now that clutter up the creativety. That's just me. In the end I think a good idea that is out of the box, that entertains, that makes the viewer think, is a good thing.

Oh - and I'm surprised I was even ALIVE that long ago! YIKES!!! :O

i dont care about how many votes i got. i just think it is better nowadays b/c there is so much less negative critisism on this site. good constructive critisism is very different than bashing other works. i think that there should be a lot less "nice work Smile" s and more critical comments. just not straight up dissing the way i left a white spot in my chop!

The reason negative comments are so rare these days is because
most people are putting in good effort on their chops.
The result of which is that on most days it remains a pleasure to paruse the art and comic relief.
Trust me, when an inordinate amount of lazy annoying chops start showing up again,
I'll personally see to the return of flaming comments, Thank You.
Now that you cleared that up, I'm glad you started this thread.
The 'niceynice' is about much more than restraint from negativity in
comments, it's the wonderful lack of poop, puke, and dead babys over
the last few weeks too.
What a NICE few weeks it's been too, I hope this continues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(I really punched that exclamation key hard several times...for emphasis)
