Much will depend on the inventory of the stores I check out tomorrow night.

I find that when I'm checking out a store's inventory, it helps if you've got a partner to distract the clerk. doesn't have to do much, just keep his attention long enough for you to "check out" the inventory. good luck tomorrow. Wink

I have a Sony DSC-V1 and I love it. The price has come down quite a bit since I bought it 2 Question years ago. It's no longer available on Sony's site as they have newer models of course, but I see BestBuy has it listed for $299 (a considerable drop from what I paid Surprised )

Accessories are definitely needed, a spare battery and a larger memory card. I also purchased a battery charger that allows me to charge 2 batteries at once. Often I've went to use my camera and discovered I had to put in a fresh battery. I just noticed on BestBuy's site that their DSC-V1 model has a different type battery, NH-AA-DA rechargeable NiMH AA batteries. My camera came with a infolithium battery which is more expensive. But so is buying AAs over time.

Canon? I got a Canon- Pretty fine camera, and I'm gonna upgrade to a better Canon
without waiting for this one to get old either.
Gripe: is they are extremely greedy about the lenses, especially AS.
Gripe: BUY the extended store warranty: Canon likes to "Get over" on it's customers.
I suggest a place like best buy, where if you have their warranty, you just walk in and pick up a new camera.

Well that is good you got a new Camera then AtHeadMore as you'll now have even LESS time to visit us here on this Hellishly Questionable Site.

Have a good HoHo Time and send me an email (via normal average human style) with some nice tulip pictures (that's TULIP, not Two Lips, you perv!)

Wink

We dutchies might not have those barren Canuck winters, but it ain't springtime here as well ReinMeister; NO tulips at the moment.

What about some Gouda cheese?

A Delft blue pensil holder?

Or, perhaps, a dyke? (My girlfriend has been to the hairdresser you know, and she wasn't happy with the result!... Twisted Evil )

Well after much flip-flopping on my wife's part we finally got a camera. We ended up getting an Olympus SP-500UZ. It's a 6 megapixel with 10x zoom and uses xD cards. We got it as it came with a free 256MB card, instant $50 rebate and $20 mail in rebate. It also allowed us to get an HP Photosmart 385 GoGo Photo Printer at the same time. Great little photo printer by the way.

Thanks to everyone who chimed in with advice and reviews! Now I'm saving for a new Mac and Photoshop!
